I sometimes fantasize that I still possess a certain primal animality — that even within the modern world, enclosed by systems of restraint and order, I might still exist like a beast: direct, candid, and utterly unreserved.

This imagination became the guiding impulse behind Transparent Like a Beast. Through this work, I attempt to visualize my own sensitivity and ferality, while also enfolding the wounds and discrimination I have experienced within contemporary life — in intimate relationships, and within rigid professional environments. I speak of every emotion and instinct without concealment, and these images, like beasts themselves, are direct and unguarded, yet also unpredictable and difficult to decipher.
